ARTS AND CULTURAL CLUB

Folklore club promotes folklore arts that were carried on orally and from generation to generation. The main aim of the club is to popularize these arts among the students and to develop their behavioural attitude towards mankind. This develops cultural amity and brings out communal harmony among the students. Programmes, seminars etc. are undertaken to promote folk culture. Membership is open to all students.

Objectives

  • To promote the folk songs and also in the aim of helping theStudents learns more about the Folk .
  • To preserve the Indigeneous knowledge of Tribal Communities.
  • Foster and nourish traditional art forms-dance, music, art etc.
  • Preservation of the richness of unity in diversity.
  • Promotion of cultural ethnicities.

Vision:

Folklore Club, Institute of Tribal Studies and Research visualize an egalitarian society where every community have the freedom to preserve and live with their distinctive culture and traditions. Equality in diversity should be the binding force of our multicultural society and all communities should have equal opportunity to preserve and propagate their distinctiveness with self-respect.

Mission:

Folklore Club, Institute of Tribal Studies and Research would like to learn various Tribal Arts forms, trying to understand its values and meanings, performing it and preserving it for the future generation.

Programs:

  • Bringing all the individual personalities those who are interested in indigenous art form in one umbrella. Apart from students teaching and non-teaching staffs of ITSR also welcome to the part of folklore club.
  • Collecting various tribal songs from students who belongs to different Tribal groups.
  • Bringing experts from Tribal arts for getting proper training to the club members.
  • Conducting practices in every week
  • Performing cultural programs in every event conducted in ITSR
  • Planning to start You Tube channel for the folklore club and uploading all programs in the channel which will be access to everyone in the future.
