GENESIS

ITSR came into existence as its office at University Campus, Thenhipalam in the year 2011  by the U.O. No. Pl.D.C2/3362/08 dated 24.02.2011 of University of Calicut.The institute, prior to its academic regular programmes, have conducted various seminars, workshops and bridge courses aiming educational and social enhancement of Scheduled tribes.

Foundation stone for the academic and administrative block was laid by Smt. P. K. Jayalakshmi ( then, The Minister for  Welfare of Scheduled Tribes, the Government of Kerala)  on 09th November 2013.

The academic building of ITSR was  inaugurated  by, then, the Hon’ble Chief Minster of the state, Mr. Oomman Chandy on 20th August 2015 at its premises at Chethalayam, Wayanad in the presence of Mr. Abdu Rabb (then, Hon’ble  Pro. Chancellor and the Minister of Education,  Government of Kerala) and Dr. M.K. Abdul Khader (then, Hon. Vice Chancellor, University of Calicut).

On the same day the academic programme of the institute, the Residential UG programme in Sociology of the Department of Sociology was inaugurated by Smt. P. K. Jayalakshmi,  (then, Minister for  Welfare of Scheduled Tribes, Government of Kerala).
