ITSR is a full-free and completely residential campus that could qualify as one of the best models for tribal uplift through education in the country. As the whole programme offering at ITSR is anticipated as fully residential, the students are advised to be the inmates of hostels for enhancing teamwork. Separate hostels are available for men and women within the campus. Students are provided healthy food from the hostel mess. The hostels are supervised by an inmate warden.

The campus is professionally equipped and facilitates a great learning environment for students and faculty alike. The juxtaposition of buildings amidst all the flora and fauna gives the campus a unique personality like no other. The Institute is equipped with inadequate, but all modern amenities and infrastructure that match the best educational environment. The facilities include eco-friendly campus, spacious classrooms, separate and secured residential facilities for boys and girls, central kitchen for hostels. The approachability to the Family Health Centre, Chethelayam, which is sharing the border with the Institute, helps the students to access the basic health care services.

As mentioned earlier, ITSR is a fully residential environment. This is necessary because all of the students in ITSR are form tribal community and they are come from a geographically distributed wide area and would not be able to commute to the campus. Thus, it is essential to provide a fully residential campus with all of the facilities included such as a shops, laundry, barbershops, etc. Since the students are joining the institution at the age of 18 where they are undergoing physical transformation and hormonal changes, being away from home adds to their stress. The University must take necessary steps to provide for Psychological Counseling and support. Almost all of the households tend to be poor and many of the factors of daily living that we take for granted are not always known, such as using a sit-down toilet as opposed to a squatting toilet and significant additional personal education will be needed to facilitate the integration into the larger community.

Academic Block

Currently, the main academic complex comprises the class rooms for B.A and M.A, Administrative Office, Staff Rooms, Library, and also Hostel for Boys. The academic block
houses 18 smart futuristic classrooms, three seminar halls, four staff rooms, one administrative office room.

Girls Hostel

There is total 9 rooms in the Girls hostel which include four dormitory halls, tow double bedded rooms, one Warden’s residence room, one matron’s residence room and one reading cum TV Hall. The total capacity of Girls hostel is 40 students. At present there are 99 students in the hostel. There is one aqua guards for water purification in the hostel. There is mess attached to the girl’s hostel. Students are facing lots of problems in getting a reasonable accommodation due to shortage of hostel facilities in the Institution. The institution has been facing a space crunch for the past years and hostel rooms meant for a six student are, in many cases, being shared by 16 students while rooms for two are often allotted to six residents.

Library
The campus encourages learning with library housing over 3,000 volumes, magazines, newspapers, journals, and five computer system to support the academic activities of the college. Apart from textbooks and recommended reading materials prescribed for course offered at the institute, the library houses a growing collection of multi-volume reference works, dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, and so on. The library also has an extensive collection of reference books for UPSC aspirants.
